Check your weight, height, and blood pressure at SAMC in our private self-health area.
Our Patient Group has purchased weight scales, height measure and blood pressure monitor for our new Self-Health Corner.
You can’t miss it, just to the right inside the entrance to SAMC. Just pop in and check your weight, height, blood pressure.
Knowing your blood pressure numbers enables you and your doctor to see if you require medication to lower blood pressure, or if you are already on medication, ensure it is working appropriately.
Knowing your height and weight numbers enables you and your doctor to monitor your body mass index (BMI), which measures whether your weight is healthy. You can now put your numbers into this easy-to-use calculator accessed via this BBC article and see how you compare with others.
Check your height, weight and blood pressure, write the numbers on the form numbers and hand it to Reception. One of our team will take a quick look and give further advice if needed.
Check your numbers every 6 months and if you have any concerns speak to your GP.
